Important Note

Specimens for this test can only be collected at BBC OPT or BMH South Campus.

Specimens must be collected AND in lab before 1400 (2 pm).

SAMPLES MUST BE MAILED OUT SAME DAY OF COLLECTION

Avise Collection Kit

10 mL whole blood lavender (EDTA)

5 mL serum tiger top (SST)

*The EDTA tube must be collected first

Optimal Collection Volume:

Fill the entire tube

Collection and processing Instructions:

1. Collect the patient's blood (EDTA tube first).

2. Wait 30 minutes for the tiger top (SST) tube to clot.

3. Centrifuge the SST tube.

4. Pack the lavender and tiger top tubes into the collection kit.

5. Send the collection kit to the lab.
