Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: 3-5 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.4 mL or 1 EDTA MICROTAINER

Collection Instructions:

1. Gently invert 5 to 10 times to mix blood.

2. Do not centrifuge.

3. Causes for rejection include heparinized or clotted specimen. Green-top (heparin) tube is not acceptable.
