Methodology
Agglutination Titer at 4° C and 37° C

Specimen Requirements
Specimen must be kept at 37oc until
processed by the laboratory.
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Plain red top
Specimen Volume: 2.0 mL whole blood
Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL whole blood
Collection Instructions:
1. Specimen must be kept at 37oc from time of draw.
2. Collect 2.0 mL whole blood in plain red top tube.
3. Ship 37oc whole blood sample promptly to laboratory for processing.
Processing Instructions:
1. Sample must remain at 37oc until processed.
2. Place warm sample into 37oc water bath until completely clotted
(approximately 30 minutes).
2. Centrifuge clotted sample promptly and aliquot serum into
screw top vial.
3. Store processed serum refrigerated until testing is performed.
Causes for rejection:
Specimen not kept warm from time
of draw or quantity not sufficient.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Specimen must be kept at 37oc until
processed by the laboratory.
