Useful For
The treatment of excessively high levels of unconjugated bilirubin (hyperbilirubinemia) and the prevention of irreversible damage due to kernicterus.

Blood Bank specimens (other than Cord Blood) are retained in the Blood Bank for 30 days. Pretransfusion testing should be completed on specimens within 2 days of collection.
