Useful For
A complement DAT test is only performed by BMH dayshift and is performed when ordered as separate test or as part of a transfusion reaction investigation. Testing used to detect the presence of C3b and C3d bound to red cells in vivo.

Blood Bank specimens (other than Cord Blood) are retained in the Blood Bank for 30 days. Pretransfusion testing should be completed within 2 days of collection.
