Ordering Guidance


This test assesses the presence of silicon and does not measure silica or silicone. Silica is silicon dioxide (SiO2), which is found in quartz and sand. Silicones are inert synthetic organosilicon compounds used in adhesives, sealants, lubricants, medical applications, insulation, and cooking utensils.



Specimen Required


***Must submit one specimen per orders. Specimens cannot be shared between multiple orders.***

 

Supplies: NMS Acid Washed "Precleaned", 10 mL (T619)

Collection Container/Tube: Royal blue top (no additive, metal-free)(serum gel/SST are not acceptable)

Submission Container/Tube: Trace metal-free plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 2 mL Serum

Collection Instructions:

1. Promptly centrifuge and aliquot serum into a trace metal-free plastic vial.

2. Send refrigerated.
