Methodology
Pathologist review of peripheral smear and report of findings. A
staff physician reviews the slide when certain abnormal or any
malignant cells, crystals, or other pathologic conditions are
present.

Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Lavender top
(EDTA)-Lavender-top (EDTA) MICROTAINER is also acceptable.
Specimen Volume: 3 to 5 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.4 mL in EDTA

Collection Instructions:
1. Gently invert 5 to 10 times to mix blood.
2. Do not centrifuge.
