Peds Onc Providers need be filling out paperwork and sending to lab with specimen

Specimen: Serum RED or SST

Collection: Venous Collection, Red-top tube or gel-barrier tube, separate serum from RBCs within 2 hours, Freeze/Refrigerate serum immediately

Volume: 0.5 – 2 mL Storage Instructions: Freeze prior to transport

If sending Monday-Thursday sample is okay to send on ice packs.
If sample is collected after 1400 on Thursday, hold sample in sendout freezer and mail out Monday on DRY ICE.
