(This kit may come from either In-patient or Out-patient settings)
In-patient
- Kits are stored in Sendout Department
- Kits should be requested through sendout department and coordinated with couriers (if staff is available) for kit dropoff/pickup as the box's are too big to send through tube station.
- Test is orderable in EPIC, Bronson providers need to place orders before kits will be sent out.
Out-patient
- Kits are provided by office, NOT LAB.
- If Bronson provider, order must be placed in EPIC
- If NON-Bronson provider, the kit must include a completed test requisition.
- order as a SOHAND for Non-Bronson Out-patients

Specimen Requirements
Kit includes
- buccal swab (optional)
- sterile cup
- buffered saline
- placed on tissue sample as preservative
- EDTA lavender tube (to be collected on Mother)
Specimen Stability
Kits are stored Ambient before specimen collection
*kits that arrive in lab need to be stored refrigerated until shipped out*
- Off shift staff should place kit on the top rack in the sendout fridge
