Immunoassay  

Methodology Comment: This assay detects morphine at concentrations of 300 ng/ml and higher. Codeine and Heroin are also detectable. This assay is lesssensitive to hydrocodone and hydromorphone  which are detected only at higher concentrations.

Note: This assay does NOT detect other opiod analgesics, specifically it does not detect methadone, fentanyl,
oxycodone, buprenorphine, or propoxyphene.  If there is a question of therapeutic compliance or abuse of these drugs, a test for the specific drug of interest should be ordered.

Note:

Drug screening performed at Bronson Laboratory Services is for medical purposes only. No chain of custody, or specimen adulteration testing is performed.   All positive results are presumptive.  Presumptive Positive means that this screening method is positive. A more specific alternative method must be used in order to obtain a  confirmed analytical result. Confirmatory testing is available on request through our reference lab.  Clinical consideration and professional judgment should b e applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly with presumptive positive results.
