Antibodies to Jo-1 are present in 20-55% of cases with poly-dermatomyositis.
Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: Gold top serum
gel-Plain,
red-top tube is also acceptable.
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL
Specimen Collection and Handling:
Separated serum/plasma should remain at 22 ͦC for no
longer than eight hours. If assays will not be completed
within eight hours, serum/plasma should be refrigerated
(2-8 ͦC). For storage beyone 72 hours, freeze
sample at -20 ͦC. Avoid repeated freezing and
thawing.
